Yas Wadi is a Danish actor known for his captivating performances in several acclaimed films and TV series. In 2023, Yas cemented his place on the international stage with his role in the highly anticipated Netflix movie Royalteen: Princess Margrethe. Directed by Ingvild Søderlind and based on the popular young adult novel series Royalteen by Randi Fuglehauge and Anne Gunn Halvorsen, Yas plays Alexander, a Danish prince who has been secretly chatting with Princess Margrethe for months, with their meeting taking center stage during the visit of the Danish royal family.
Currently, Yas is premiering in a new play at Aarhus Theater in January 2025 called PRES. Following this, he will start work on his next short film project, collaborating with an incredibly strong cast. Yas’s creativity extends far beyond acting—he is deeply committed to crafting stories that challenge and inspire, allowing him to grow as an artist and paving the way for his recognition as a remarkable actor deserving of a prominent place in the film industry.
Beyond his acting accomplishments, Yas is an award-winning screenwriter. His debut short film, Tornen Dør, Blomsten Lever, achieved worldwide recognition, traveling to multiple international festivals and earning him the prestigious ‘Audience Award for Best Film.’ Moreover, demonstrating his creative versatility, Yas recently wrote and starred in the short film Havet er Rødt (The Ocean is Red), which received widespread recognition. The film earned him the Ekko Shortlist Award 2024 for Best Male Actor, awarded by a prestigious jury. This recognition highlights Yas’s ability to captivate both audiences and critics alike, further solidifying his standing as an exceptional talent in the industry.
In 2019, Yas graduated from the esteemed acting school Cours Florent Paris with the highest distinction and was awarded ‘Best Male Student’ of his class. His multicultural background—encompassing France, Denmark, Brazil, and Iraq—adds a unique depth to his artistry and performances, making him a truly global talent.
